I have been frequently put in danger by my fellow cyclists as by the motorists near me. I am not a fast biker, so I try to ride predictably and make it easy for others to pass. I signal. I make myself visible. I pay attention. I stop for pedestrians.
I do not get up in the morning thinking how make life miserable for people in my way. I just want to bike to school. But my fellow cyclists seem to need to pass me in heavy traffic under an underpass, pass me on the right in a narrow bike lane in rush hour, and they never, I mean never, say anything like "Coming on your left." Besides the cars that came to the bike line or passé to the right without any sine. I mean no sine. Came in my left and drop in front me to the right. They stop and use the line as parking or only stop there to talk with friends or something.
As more people bike, the bike lanes will have a variety of riders with different capabilities. We will all need to respect one to another. Sorry to say the frontier is over. It is not the Tour de France; it is a commuter trail, slow, crowded and annoying. Get a grip. Be polite. It won not kill you. To pay attention to your fellow bikers
or to who is making a difference to the world, not using one more car to polluting the air.
